I at least appreciated the opportunity for a glimpse into what a career in salvaging is like. This is also one of those movies where you can tell the screenwriters were really pleased with a character they created, especially the name. Every scene with Gabrielle Byrne they find a reason to say his name. "Well, what do you think, Murphy?" "Hey Murph -- you're gonna want to take a look at this," etc.
I’m not rating this movie on its artistic merits (they’re bad) but rather on its politics, which are excellent.
