I would write a longer review of this talking about potential racism / bizarre romance but honestly I just found it boring, and unbelievable that they didn’t go to a SINGLE stationary stop like talk about wasted opportunity.
UPDATE: I do find this a disrespectful and bizarre movie. Japanese culture is portrayed as overbearing and silly, and the characters lack any curiosity or interest beyond their own discomfort and self-interest. The slow pacing and shallow characters just made this a really boring watch.
