A solid thriller with aspects of horror thrown throughout. It definitely delivered and was a refreshing storyline that was different from the same old recycled material. James McAvoy plays the villain almost too well in this, it’s unsettling at times. His range of acting is unbelievable.
3.9
I knew it was going to be a strange one and it was indeed. I did really like it and loved the dark, gothic film style. It was artsy, scary, moody, and more than slightly uncomfortable at times but in a good way? I couldn’t look straight at Nosferatu for more than about 5 seconds in fear that he would haunt my dreams (or was it that mustache). Loved the folk horror but it definitely hit my limit for…
I had high hopes for this movie after being so impressed with the first installment. Unfortunately it did not deliver as expected. Though it was full of scare and gore and delivered some entertaining bits, it failed to follow through on a cohesive plot and ending. The back and forth between reality and fiction, while in theory an intriguing idea, left me confused at times.
The perfect comfort movie. Whimsical, heartfelt, and inspiring. The kind of witch we all aspire to be.
