The twist got me!!! Got me so bad! This is a beautiful movie. I'm still made abt Miguel's grandma breaking his guitar though. And the class system in the afterlife feels affirmed, not as critiqued as I'd like.

Requiem for a Dream 2000
A long overdue rewatch from loving this movie way too much at 16. It feels more complex but also easier to parse nearly a decade later. I don't feel eaten and spat out by this movie anymore, but it still hits. The love stuck with me more this time.

This was so maddeningly awful. The characters had no personality or drive and the filmmakers never set up real stakes. For such a "dark" theme, it was excruciatingly boring. The only good thing that could come out of my watching this movie if I can convince one person not to watch it. You'd learn more about humanity by staring at a wall for 2 hours.
