  Dumb, ugly, boring movie. Contains one of the more offensive depictions of an autistic character I have ever seen. It boggles the mind that someone who starred in three Star Wars movies would need to take a role in a movie like this. Instantly forgettable.

  Nowhere near the excellence of P2, but still a solid kid’s movie.

  This one is Paddington’s origin story, and he is basically The Chosen One with a supernatural connection to El Dorado. I wish I was kidding. Silly and schmaltzy where P2 was whimsical and touching – you can really feel the difference. None of the Brown family ensemble’s arcs feel earned, and Banderas’ character is a straight-up knockoff of Grant’s P2 villain. Olivia Colman is great as always, but…

  This movie is way more fun than it should be, and 90% of that is thanks to the comedic chops of a young Channing Tatum plus a fun sprinkle of David Cross. Amanda Bynes works well enough as a character who is herself a bad actress.   I happened to check my Alamo app 20 minutes before the screening started so I dropped everything and fought rush hour traffic to see my GOAT on the big screen. Must have seen it a dozen times but it’s just so dense and layered that every time I see it it says something new to me and leaves me changed. Sublime.
