The Substance 2024
The many criticisms of this film are the very reasons I love it. The absurdism of the ending didn’t feel like a rushed end - it felt familiar. Women empathise with the absurdism and pain that is illustrated. This film feels fresh and loud and in your face.
The cinematography was so beautifully put together, every scene felt like a work of art. That, paired with the phenomenal job Demi Moore did makes watching it a stunningly grotesque experience.
