This did not feel like Gus Van Sant film. It kinda reminded me of Serial Mom so that’s an automatic win to me. This is probably my favorite Nicole Kidman film. Also Joaquin Phoenix, is such a great actor like he scares me.

As someone who’s been calling themselves Frankenfemme for almost a decade now, I am fully obsessed with The Substance. Womanhood is grotesque and monstrous in so many ways. Seeing an insecurity so many women have idealized as a monster is so perfect I could scream. Black Swan for the people who read Tomie and said “Good for her.”
This is the type of horror I love, I hope to see more of it. Being an aging woman can be scary…
