Why do all 1990s-2000s fantasy films seem to base their aesthetic on the first scene of conan the barbarian?
Very forgettable run-of-the-mill fantasy/medieval film. Only put it on bc was hanging with joe and ik the boy likes fighty films. We got bored quickly and vaguely followed it while going on phones.

Film one big pile of poopy.
Simultaneously could never tell what was supposed to be going on but also was very easy to see where things were going.
Also film thought it was so clever with all the brothers grimm references but they were all so ham fisted and obvious they werent even fun.
Cavaldi was alright though.

Dumb ass horny ass ignorant ass film
Only thing that could stop the film being horny for like 2 mins is when they needed to do a racist or homophobic gag. True peak of 80s comedy deserving of its baftas and oscar.
The one gag with the steamroller kinda funny though.

Havent seen this film for years and on rewatch it is rather silly, but i do have such a soft spot for it even after all this time. Whether its just nostalgia or not i kinda love it.
The film has an odd vibe, its that kinda violent survival/action flick made by yer da for yer da, but at the same time it feels like the film wants to be more. The poetry throughout gives the impression the writer wanted…
