At this point I just started feeling bad because my dogs had been home alone for 10 hours while I’m just watching Alfrid dress up as an old lady to avoid fighting.
I didn’t totally hate this movie but it’s absurd that it exists when Bilbo just gets knocked out in the book and most of the battle is skipped iirc (I read it like 10 years ago). Battle itself is so poorly done too and the CGI is disgusting.…
Might have the best pacing and the coolest set pieces overall but it still has a bunch of issues. The GoPro barrel scene is hilariously bad. While I appreciate that he’s the only dwarf aside from Thorin with any relevance, I couldn’t care less about the Kíli and Tauriel romance. Evangeline Lilly must’ve despised getting involved in another love triangle after Lost. Also I didn’t recall the final battle against Smaug being so long and I thought it kinda drags
A solid start to a great trilogy (this was the last of the three I watched). I wasn’t as invested in the story and characters but I’m also kind of tired. I’m also aware that it copied a lot from Kurosawa’s Yojimbo which I need to watch. Love the atmosphere of these movies and Morricone’s soundtrack is amazing as usual
