One of the most insane films I’ve watched. It starts with a psychedelic colonoscopy, there’s an unhinged performance by Adam Sandler (of all people) 90% of which is him shouting. Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri 2017
One of the best endings I’ve ever seen. Gets off to a slow start but is really special in the second half. Great analysis of violence. One of the main arguments is that there is no truly non-violent act; and that there is no true distinction between violence and compassion. It is also a critique of dogma and uncritically pursuing your goals. We should fight for what we believe in, but always question what we believe in. It deals it these themes really thoughtfully and carefully. A rare film which unifies those watching it.
