Saltburn 2023
The calm before the storm. The age old adage where nature fools us with a serene environment before reigning hell on us. Emerald Fennell played us just like nature. Although the plot twist took a while to arrive, it hit hard. At that point, Saltburn seemed to unravel, bringing to light a side of Oliver Quick that we never knew was there. I wish Fennell gave us more of a backstory to Oliver’s obsession with Felix, as it would’ve given the plot more structure. Nonetheless, it was an enjoyable - and at times uncomfortable - thriller that left me stunned.
