the last 15 minutes were such a shame for various reasons. the attempted rape was so unnecessary and also out of character... it left such a bad taste in my mouth that they included that merely as a revenge plot device :/
the cinematography was absolutely beautiful throughout though. so stunning, Tang Tawanwad is so talented. i also really liked the score
also that scene with jingna telling thongkam that his wish was for his wish to come true was peak romance i fear😔
i actually really enjoyed this lmao yes the writing was kinda a mess esp in the second half but... as a fellow depressed gay cantonese bitch who loves the ocean and taiwan, i will absolutely be revisiting this as a comfort movie
imagine being the writer, director, actor, and dialect coach of your first feature...sasha chuk really did that
so many quietly devastating moments i really had to hold myself back from weeping in the theater lol anyway a really impressive debut
also watching this as someone who grew up hearing my 公公's hunanese-accented cantonese really fucked me up extra man
