Gonna say, there really is not much interesting about this film at all. I felt like there was initially, but as the finale played out I realized I was lulled into thinking there was anything interesting in the end. Only redeeming quality for this was it being about photography and the action sequences were decent.

While there is nothing interesting from the central plot or any commentary on the treatment of natives in a young America, the camera work and overall cinematography was electric and beautifully crafted. The camera feels like it is part of the film rather than a window into the film. I see why DiCaprio was finally able to get his first Oscar for this performance but the rest of this felt run of the mill if not laughable.

This could have been cool but too many things that were just straight dumb that muddies the artistic vision at display. I also cannot stand the amount of dutch angles used... some cool camera work besides that. Case of trying to push a vision without all the details.
