Absolutely magnificent film - I can’t even put words to how I feel about it. A wonderful commentary even more relevant now than when it came out, with beautiful VFX and excellent acting to boot. This is a movie you can really entrench yourself in, and one that can highly impact your worldview if you only allow it to. I often say that I don’t have the words to express my love for a good film, and in this case, I truly do mean it. Another one of Cronenberg’s masterpieces.

Naked Lunch 1991
This was definitely a weird one - but in a good way. Spoke on a lot of differing themes and while it certainly had a few weak moments (Kiki’s death comes to mind) it was overall, a strong film with a distinct visual style and storytelling methodology. Absolutely adored it.

Re-Animator 1985
Fun, campy, and a little low-budget, Re-Animator is an excellent watch. Retelling Lovecraft’s story of the same name, I think this film does it justice in a unique way, to say the least. Yes, it’s not fancy— it’s not got the best practical effects or what-have-you. However, I found it to be a fun, engaging watch that really let me connect with an old story in a new way.

Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory 1971
A film from my childhood, perhaps I am biased in seeing it as an excellent example of children’s filmmaking. Eccentric & odd, with jokes the whole family can enjoy … it’s a fun, light, refreshing film suitable for the whole family to enjoy. Wonderful costumes, sets, & (of course) songs. A personal favourite of mine.
