the yearning, the desperation! craig impressed me quite a bit here, i must admit
the cinematography and the soundtrack is amazing! come as you are was so fitting for that particular scene too ~
there is so much to say, but i'm going to sleep more on this film. it was (grotesquely) beautiful and weird at the same time

a film for the gothic girlies and i love it! although not overlooking the deeper meanings behind it all and the one love that was actually existent in the film: the one between Ellen and Thomas!
i can see a bit of murnau and herzog in here; but truly eggers did something that made this his own!
soundtrack is amazing, and not to mention the lighting - wow!
