A number of people in my row walked out in the 2nd act... they missed out. As disorienting and draining as some of the first scenes can be, the emotional payout of seeing Becky take her first steps toward stability is fully worth the discomfort.

The sound design/score is really great as well. When Becky is in the room the sound works like the hashmarks around Pigpen, you can't forget something off is pervading everything.
