This is probably the most visually impressive movie I have ever seen, both CGI and videography wise.
It suffers from issues of an unusually flippant and disheveled plot, but the set pieces, costumes, and special effects are unimaginably good. One of the better examples of the "found footage" genre, Cloverfield does an excellent job of capturing the horrific - and large scale - destruction of New York from a street-level view.
