It seems I can’t watch this film until I’ve forgotten something about the opening scene. This time I forgot how long it was - saw the circus train on the DVD menu and was very confused.
A great finale for the trilogy. I would’ve been fine if they’d ended it here but I guess now at some point we’re going to have to rewatch the other two just for completions sake.
Topless Harrison Ford really wipes all thoughts from my brain. Also can’t believe they served up the Nazi Monkey from the first film as a racial stereotype for Indian food - drink every-time something is slightly racist really gets you in this one.
My biggest let down here was the horror. I wasn’t scared. The practicality of everything was great, the visual quality that this enhanced by not seeing cgi edits everywhere increased tension but it wasn’t scary unfortunately. I haven’t played the games so don’t know how this compares narratively - but even then this wasn’t ground breaking. I had fun but not in the way I expected to have fun with this.
This didn’t hit it for me. I can appreciate some of the creative decisions here, but it overall it felt lacking. A lot of pointless side characters who felt shoehorned in for one scene; no emotional development between Leo and Gladstone; bland visuals (apart from the fire scene); the writing felt like it was trying to baby us; and the climax didn’t have the payoff it was poorly building too. I can do a slow burn movie that’s 2 hours…
