Ghost Cat Anzu 2024
The majority of this film is thoroughly relaxing. It's so pleasant and easy to watch, even with some of the heavier aspects of the film (largely absent father, dead mother) still present. The picture painted of the Japanese countryside is full of nature and mythology in a way which is almost certain to remind the audience of Ghibli films (or maybe Okiura Hiroyuki's A Letter to Momo, from which this film almost certainly takes some inspiration).

Lupin the Third: The Mystery of Mamo 1978
For the Lupin film I've seen that's the most focused on Lupin and Fujiko's relationship, it does have the least interesting depiction of Fujiko I've seen out of any of the films. I think this may be because this film does not like women.
On the other hand, Mamo was a cool villain and the final scene of the film (no spoilers here) is the kind of creativity that is why I love this series. That said, a lot of this film is very rambly, which sometimes pays off and sometimes very much does not.

Twin Peaks: Fire Walk with Me 1992
It feels damn near impossible to write a review of this without giving spoilers, but I shall try my best.
This was a genuinely beautiful film. Towards the end I just kept on crying and crying and crying. Everything feels so fundamentally human. I already want to watch it again. Oh my god.
