I have to be vague in my language to avoid doxxing. This’ll have a point I promise. My hometown was home to one of the biggest lynchings in Missouri. A man was dragged through the streets of a black neighborhood by a car, then taken into town and burned. You can find the photo of 100 or so men standing around as the smoke rises up. The man’s unconscious body being burned alive. I recognize the build in the photo.…
This review may contain spoilers. I can handle the truth.
There Will Be Blood, a title that grabs you by the balls the second you hear it. It’s not a question as to wether there will be blood, it’s a promise. A promise that blood will shed.
First off I’ll discuss PTA’s writing and directing. There’s a very disgusting feeling in the film. Any time we’re down in the oil pits or interacting with oil the camera handheld and in the shit with the characters. Attempting to stay steady in…
Clean upper class refinement boiled down to petty low shots of character. Been very excited for what Soderbergh had called upperclass Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf and I’m glad it delivers. Soderbergh shoots with this cleanliness and style that shows his mastery of cinema. He changes his style constantly and everytime he knocks it out of the park. He crafts this film of twist and turns with such poise and style that few carry. The universe didn’t want me to…
Held together by an all star cast. Hader, Chastain, McAvoy, and Skarsgaard in one movie? I mean hell yeah. I think overall this is just alot messier than the first. It’s almost 3 hours and most of that is side quest around town and everyone going back and forth on whether they wanna stay or leave. It definitely needed a tighter cut in like the 2 hour range. There’s still some fun to be had just nowhere as good as the chapter 1. Peace out.
Performing Uncle Fucker like it is a operatic soulful ballad is the greatest thing to come out of 2022
This feels very lonely island and I couldn’t be more excited.
