Murnau is turning over in his grave… gleefully.
In this film I think Eggers found the authentic flavor of a fairytale. Ironically though, it lacks the occultic spell that his earlier films (The Vvitch & The Lighthouse) enchant me with. The Count is made palatable rather than infective. You may therefore rest in peace lest Count Orlock haunts you.
