Where do I begin with this film?!

Here's another one of those films I genuinely thought wouldn't do much for me based on the "Chimpanzee" gimmick and it being a biopic of a performer I don't know anything about. Fortunately, I was completely wrong about that and this beautiful film took me on an awesome journey!

I'm guessing for the exact same reasons most moviegoers automatically decided to skip this movie as it really does look uncanny with its gimmick…

    The Substance

    ★★★★★

The Substance is THE body-horror film I've been waiting to see! It ticks all the boxes for me as far as preference goes and the result is an absolute Masterpiece!

Now I will start by saying, I can't speak for everyone if you'll like this or not because it's very ambitious, niche and unique where it could be seen as over the top so "tread with caution" if you're squeamish about body horror, exaggerated visuals and campy social commentary satire.…

The Day the Earth Blew Up: A Looney Tunes Movie

    ★★★★½

I've always had a soft spot for the Looney Tunes and as soon as I discovered that this film was a real thing coming to theaters I jumped for joy!

2D animation is such a neglected, underappreciated and often disrespected being regulated as a form of entertainment only for children and all of that is FAR from the truth. Animation is not worthless, nor is it primarily childish. Animation in general, especially 2D actually gives the viewer a more dynamic…

I know this is called the Unbreakable Boy, but boy did this film break me 😅. Another film where just about everything going on had endless streams of tears rolling down my cheeks every 5 minutes.

This is based on a true story about Scott and Teresa LaRette raising their son Austin and Logan. Logan is normal but Austin is on the spectrum and has a brittle bone disease. The film highlights the ups and downs of what the LaRette…

    Companion is a wild ride!

And yes this will be a long review because I loved the film 😅

The initial trailer of this movie did an excellent job at withholding most of the details effectively and I was definitely intrigued by its tone. Do try to go in knowing as little as possible.

However, I was also a bit skeptical because I felt incoming heavy-handed narratives that sensationalizes one perspective over the other in an obnoxious manner that compromises…

"What if we sew the dog's head onto the man's body?...Great idea!"

Being one of the few who loved reading the Captain Underpants books from the book fairs growing up and then loving the film, Dog Man from the same creator was definitely something I naturally gravitated towards.

This is a very playful "on the nose" type of film with lots of indications and puns. It's hilarious, random and a bit hyperactive at times.

Speaking of hyper, I feel the…
