Brokeback Mountain 2005
“You know I ain’t queer.”
“Me neither.”If you had asked me what this movie was about a couple years ago I simply would’ve told you it was a gay cowboy love story. So many people had joked and meme’d about it that I didn’t even think to take it seriously despite never watching it, but I’m so glad I finally did. Those people just didn’t get the point this movie was trying to get across and it shows.

Watching it a second time around made me focus so much more on the forbidden love aspect of the film. Ennis’ life was in shambles all because he struggled to come to terms with his emotions towards Jack. While Jack was ready to sacrifice everything for him, the way Ennis was raised and taught made it so much harder for him to understand what exactly he was feeling. So sad how these things happened in real life; something as simple as love between two people could get them shamed and killed all because it doesn’t follow societal norms. Ugh this movie is too perfect
