An achingly sad movie, much more so than I remembered from previous watches. I felt like I was Neo seeing the code of the Matrix, except with seeing the screenplay beat by beat. A lot of potential with its ideas taken down by clunky plotting and a thinly-defined story. The jump scares got me good and were well-used, but any time it tried to be scary otherwise I was entirely unmoved.
