A hidden gem of a romcom. Fun, different, up beat, and most importantly, Black. After watching it I realized how few good Black romcoms actually exist. Also shout out to the fisheye shots, takes some getting used to, but in no time you find yourself genuinely enjoying the film direction.

American Fiction 2023
Thoroughly enjoyed it. Are there things I can point to that could have been better in the plot? Sure. But the humor made up for it all. The social commentary wasn’t packaged in a way that felt outdone. The movie just allowed us space to laugh at everything we know is wrong with the expectations put on Black art and Black people in artistic spaces. Also Sterling K Brown and Jeffrey Wright were both brilliant.
