liked it but didn’t really love it. funny and the style was consistent but story kind of falls off and you’re just waiting for people to die at a certain point.

oh baby boy. this shit is like the most aesthetically pleasing piece of media i have ever seen. so visually consistent yet beautiful and detailed. it literally feels like it was filmed in the 70s, the only thing keeping me in the present was giamatti. story had a simple, relatable message but the writing + dialogue really nailed the pacing on the progression of the main relationship. giamatti was out of this world man.

pretttty good. deniro is throwing straight fastballs at like 90 yrs old, that’s crazy. lily gladstone probably gives the best performance out of the cast, able to convey so much with subtlety. movie does an effective job at building the world in which the events play out, however this setting does struggle to carry the whole weight of the movie (visually tired in some places + some details not given enough time). why did dicaprio choose to put on a cartoon frown for the last 45 minutes, nobody looks like that.
