kind of like an epic, but instead of heroic people, they're greedy and miserable. the camera lingers, you hear their bated breath-- we watch them get entangled in their own web of despair they weave in their pursuit of salvation.
the epicness comes from Béla Tarr's vision (his auteurship). slow scenes, the visual metaphors, the slow zooms. in some scenes, you become a character in the movie as we follow behind, feeling each bump in the road, or we approach them walking, feeling the wet leaves below our rubber boots.

Suspiria 2018
The first half I was fully in it, then instead of having some of my questions answered, I felt more confused and unsatisfied by the end of the film. Overall, I do have to say it’s a great horror film and maybe some of my confusion means I need to think about the film some more🤷🏽♀️.
