pretty good! went in a direction i did not expect, and the political commentary, while pretty on the nose, was good and topical. Would recommend a watch and the soundtrack was also pretty good. UPDATE: been listening to the soundtrack and it's honestly amazing, reminds me alot of the succession soundtrack, and almost all of it is in 6/4? very cool, bumped up a half star just for the soundtrack.

Actually crazy movie, the way the colonel was portrayed i think was the most interesting, at the end of the day, his rationalization for his actions throughout the film make sense, "do you want to stay in algeria, or do you want to leave?" That is the question that leads to all this chaos and suffering, the question of the French government to let Algeria be independent.

what a movie... truly one of the films of all time. If you are near a movie theater that is showing this movie, PLEASE WATCH IT!!! It is a movie that NEEDS to be watched in theaters. It has such a grandiosity that can really only be matched by a movie like Beh-Hur or Lawrence of Arabia. But at the same time, there's incredibly intimate and funny scenes, that remind me of much smaller films like Juno or Meyorwitz Stories.…

This is one of the most fucked up, heartbreaking, yet hilarious, wholesome, and endearing movies i have ever seen. Probably my new favorite movie. This film is very similar in style to Punch Drunk Love, another one of my favorite movies. If you like this movie go watch that other one.
