  This is, in my opinion, one of the greatest war films ever made.

  It isn't just a spectacle for the gruesome and brutal violence it portrays; the secondary plot line which follows the ratification of the armistice and the classic 1800s European general with the mustache both really serve the true anti-war message of this film.
