Viscerally painful and so so important. Had me on the verge of tears for 2/3 of the runtime, if not fully crying. Fernanda Torres gave an outstanding, heavy performance in an outstandingly heavy film. Bravo.

The Room Next Door 2024
Utterly Almodovar in color, aesthetics, score, and even drama, yet there’s just a little piece of something missing for me personally. Having two of the greats, Tilda Swinton and Julianne Moore, sharing a screen, yet at moments having some of the most stilted and cold dialogue in any Almodovar film. Having said that, the awkwardness is balanced with scenes of complete tenderness and maturity and great emotional depth that make it hard to dislike this.
