The story here was well structured, with the events of a disastrous corporate camping trip slowly revealed over the course of the film. However some truly absurd plot contrivances and underdeveloped characters keep this from really being a satisfying mystery.
No one carries PLBs? And two separate groups just stumble on a serial murderer’s hut that no one has found in 40 years?
Plot silliness aside, it was competently made, and was reasonably engaging most of the way through - good rainy day viewing. Just could’ve been a fair bit better.
Action sequences were enjoyable and well thought out, but too reliant on CGI. It just never seems like money well spent in a giant budget film like this. It’s still too uncanny. Speaking of uncanny, digital de-ageing still looks horrible. Stop doing it!
Harrison Ford was great and brought more energy to this than I expected. I don’t know why Antonio Banderas was in this, he was given nothing.
