i really enjoyed flow
i thought the characterizations of the main animal characters were great, and all managed without dialogue or over-anthropomorphizing them. loved the sort of ‘open’ nature of the story, too. left a fair amount up to interpretation. t’was fairly humorous, too. but that might rely on your enjoyment of seeing animals doing silly things that animals might do
also, got huge laughs from the whole theater over the full minute or two of production company logos at the beginning
don't watch if you can't handle the sights and sounds of a cat in mortal peril.
i really enjoyed it
it was funny, uncomfortable at times, and sad, but mostly funny.
like challengers (2024) if it were sexless and had 300 main characters.
a foolish thing to have watched blind. there were a lot of payoffs and callbacks to things i didn't know anything about. had some funny jokes, and i feel like i might understand volleyball slightly better than before, so i guess bonus points for that?
feel free to take this review with a grain of salt
Thelma had a premise that could have very easily been too saccharine but it was pretty good at balancing that out with real, y’know, stuff. it refrains from both the cheap laughs and the cheap tearjerking.
they did a good job blending action comedy and drama. june squibb is delightful as a 93-year-old woman who gets scammed out of $10k and decides to get it back. all the characters are well-defined and believable.
i really liked it 👍
