Incendies 2010
In short: connects personal and large-scale stories of cyclical hate and violence, also showing how the two play into each other. The idea isn’t new or unique, but Incendies goes a step further than most works that cover this. It shows a different way forward, a real way to break these cycles on a personal level, ideally and eventually breaking them on the larger scale as well.

This review may contain spoilers. I can handle the truth.
"I can't die now. I'm afraid to commit suicide, and one day maybe God will have a use for me. Then he'll set me free from my prison."
This film is exhausting, devastating, powerful, gripping, and one of the best things I’ve ever watched.
Liv Ullmann is absolutely incredible. Her performance is right there with Daniel Day Lewis in TWBB as the best I've seen. And Ingrid Bergman is outstanding too.
This film is a FORCE in dialogue and character…
