  “Don’t worry guys, it’s all apart of the menu.”

  I think it was fine. I got like Midsommar vibes from this, just in the way the film tries to shock you. It all unravels in a similar fashion with it progressively getting more intense until the big hot finale (and oh boy is it hot!). Even the music felt very Midsommar-ey, which I only saw that film once so I could be misremembering it, but that’s just how I felt.…

  My Freaky Family 2024

  They used a vine boom sound effect and said “sus” in this. Not to mention the funny title. I don’t even know what’s going on here. The big worm guy sounds like Robin Williams and the villain sounds like Trump. Animation was ugly. It looked like a mobile game. I’m sure the kids will love it. Or maybe they won’t, they’d probably just watch Despicable Me 4 instead, and I don’t blame them.

  Diary of a Wimpy Kid Christmas: Cabin Fever 2023

  Wow. A real upgrade from the first two films. I don’t remember reading the book so I can’t tell you how faithful it is, but in terms of watchability, it wasn’t that bad. All of the cringe that the first two films had was nowhere to be seen here. And the part where Manny goes, “Dictator… I’ve had it with you people,” was genuinely really funny. Overall, it’s looking bright for the future of Wimpy Kid films. Let’s hope the next is even better.
