Hairspray is a fun, music-themed comedy-drama. The film's soundtrack features energetic, head-bobbing tunes throughout, and I personally think they all hit. There's plenty of funny, charming performances to boast. The film does a great job at provoking the audience's emotions with its themes of segregation in the 50's, and it gives viewers plenty of reasons to care about the actual characters who are being effected by it. Both genuinely heartfelt and funny, this movie is just charming all around. The movie didn't suck me initially, but after the first fifteen minutes or so, it had me in tuned . The cast is just as sweet as they can be. The humor is totally inoffensive, but it's nothing that makes you roll your eyes; the majority of it still hits. It takes the concept of someone dying, and makes that person's life something to celebrate rather than to grieve. This is just a sweet, clean humored movie that you can watch with anyone.

If you watched this growing up, your childhood was awesome! Perhaps I see this one through nostalgia goggles, but I think this timelessly animated film features clever humor, lovable characters, and a cute story that audiences of all ages can enjoy. A Disney classic, no doubt.
