What a waste of time. Another example of hype not measuring up to finished product. I had to wait 1.5+ hours for the “religion is blah blah” message that I feel myself and thousands of others knew before settling into our AMC recliners.

Nosferatu 2024
An “A” for effort but the Northman was better, and more original. We’ve all seen Dracula, not sure what Eggers thought he could bring to this classic, albeit over told story, but not even Willem Defoe nor the underlying horniness kept me engaged. I hope this isn’t a turning point for Eggers to stop making original period piece horror/fantasy stories in favor of retelling old classic’s we’ve seen before. What’s next Dave Eggers does Frankenstein? If you want to see a good vampire film, watch Bram Stoker’s Dracula. Or if you’re really feeling fun, Leslie Neilson in Dracula, Dead and loving it.

Labyrinth 1986
Oh man. This movie still has me in a chokehold. Brilliant and fun all the way through, even if David Bowie’s character kidnaps a baby, tries grooming a 15 year old girl, pantomimes snorting cocaine during a fun song with puppets, and has a bulge the size of Texas in his tights for the hour and half runtime. A must see.
