Direction, perfection. Casting, perfection. Acting, perfection. Cinematography, perfection. Score, perfection. Story, PERFECTION. This is one of, if not the best Batman story ever shown on the big screen. Taken inspiration from The Long Halloween mixed with allegories of Media Caused Violence and you have yourself an amazing down to earth story about a man trying to bring vengeance to a city riddled (pun intended) with crime. For those who may dislike this movie for its focus on intense dialogue driven…

The one thing I would say that would make this movie hold up for me is the dialogue. Other than that, the production design direction and color grade make me physically ill to watch this movie. I get it was on purpose for the narrative, but god it’s difficult. The twist makes no sense, and yes, I can look up videos online seeing the clues towards it, but a movie should be able to give audiences clues for them to…

A movie so bad its awesome, but at the same time not really. Take a shot for anytime you see slow motion scene, like omg. The action is cool but the Aliens are a little too raptor like for my taste. They kill EVERYONE, like there’s a guy who whole character was spitting out exposition. Ever heard of show don’t tell?? The first Alien movie showed us the universe and left the audience to guess and the mystery was half…

My favorite movie of all time. A culmination of visuals, scoring, theme, narrative, and characters. Not to mention dialogue (even if there’s little). The only thing I would judge harshly about this film is its villain, but he centers around everything with greed and what that would do to person and how it positions them to become blind. The theme takes the place for me. Questioning one’s own humanity, and whether you are who you have always made yourself to believe. Every time I rewatch this film, I find something new to focus on, and it makes me love the film even more.
