Oppenheimer 2023
Don’t understand how Oppenheimer being accused of colluding with the Russians is thematically linked to the morality of the bomb. A detail like that wouldn’t really matter much normally, but the movie really really seems to think that it matters. The whole thing feels like you’re watching a trailer for a better movie.

I remember watching this film years ago and being blown away by the realism. Coming back to it now I was disappointed. The concept to shoot these vignettes over the course of 12 years is great (and core to the premise), but it seems that the film is often hurt by clunky dialogue and a soundtrack that undercuts the atmosphere. Still, the story itself is strong and having a looser script, allowing for more improvisation, may have helped this. Ethan Hawke really steals the show.
