    Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri

    This was odd. One of those movies in which people praise its “realistic” dialogue because they use swear words in every sentence. It seemed like most of these were the first take hahaha. Just make something as edgy as possible without any actual stake in it and you’ll get at least a 4.0 on Letterboxd. I didn’t really love this one, but there were interesting moments for sure.

    Dalton and Chet were the real protagonists in this thinly veiled analogy for the falling of the Berlin Wall. The dichotomy between Dalton and Chet was almost representative of late-Cold War capitalism and neo-Marxist economics. In this UC Berkeley undergraduate college of Letters and Science essay, I will argue that Chet from Dead Poets Society is representative of the juxtaposition of the American Dream and the Mise-en-scene of a cooperative coop of young laborers in the cave of the DPS (Dead Poets Society).
