very personal take on napoleon’s character and his male insecurity. Not an historical piece at all but I enjoyed this character driven story. last act goes too fast (probably to be able to cover a life) but shortcuts gives the feeling of a wikipedia narrative. battles scenes are great and tactical. Joaquim phoenix embodies this geometrical character with intensity. Tahar Rahim ! His performance and english accent was so convincing as Vanessa Kirby’s acting. A feeling of coldness emanates from every charcater but I quite liked Scott’s irony (sometimes gross) on france bloodiest period. This english take gives some air and distance…
