I wanted to like this so much more than I did, even if there were plenty of things that I did enjoy. Robert Pattinson's performance alone (and how much fun he's clearly having) raise my rating by half a star, but I couldn't help but feel like the movie itself was both half-baked and overloaded. It was so close to being on the right track, just needed some focus. Bong's films are usually so good at following the "show, don't tell" rule, but that fell short here. However, the creativity, world building, and visuals make it worthwhile.

Cocaine Bear 2023
This delivered exactly what it promised. Unlike other films I've seen recently, it knows what it is and doesn't try to have its coke and snort it too; it's just a mindless good time, playing with the the ridiculous stranger-than-fiction elements of the true story it's inspired by. It's not clever or particularly well-done, but rather just a campy B-movie and everyone involved clearly knows it. As long as the audience is along for the ride, they're in for just as much fun.
