Feels very structured for a Sean Baker film. He's dipping his toe into the anxiety-inducing thriller genre, a-la Good Time or Shiva Baby, although this is much more invested in the comedy of it all. Ivan's (Mark Eydelshteyn) juvenile excitement is absolutely hilarious-- which makes it both inevitable and devastating when he drops Ani (Mikey Madison) like she's an expired beer or obsolete video game.
