Reason for choosing this film: Pastor Ernst Toller, the film's protagonist, struggles through a crisis of faith, further intensified by the suicide of his radical environmentalist Michael Mensana. I think his questioning of his faith will inevitably lead to a questioning of the existence of God.

Sid & Aya: Not a Love Story

    ★★★★

Sid & Aya: Not a Love Story is a social-realist exploration of the neoliberal world and its effects on culture and personal relationships, executed thru the story of romance between titular characters Sid and Aya. Mother

    ★★★★★

The film follows a mother's efforts to free her mentally unstable son, jailed because of murder. My personal favourite from Bong Joon-ho's filmography.

    [Output 24]
Reason for choosing this film: It poses one of the best cinematic questioning of what is good and what is not.

x+y is a tender coming-of-age tale of a young man named Nathan as he copes with the death of his father thru his love of mathematics. The film follows Nathan as he struggles to form relationships with other people, especially with her mother Julie and fellow Math Olympiad competitor Zhang Mei.

    [Output 14]
Reason for choosing this film: most of the questions in the Math competition that Nathan joined are of geometric nature, which Kant considered as synthetic a priori truths.
