Dry Wind 2020
For me, the best movie from 2020 so far.
It has centainly a bunch of rhymes with other celebrated movies such as Beau Travail and Stranger by the Lake, but from its first act forward it shows it's not just about a breathtaking cinematography with an explicit gay gaze, it has a lot of tension, good rhythm and escapes every gay movie clichet with its endless plots twists.
The soundtrack is amazing. Nice touch with Maria Bethania singing at the end. "Negue", which means deny, matches perfectly with the character's journey and brings such a intensity to this apotheotic moment... Bravo.
