Good for amateur VFX analysis; great theme song. Will be showing to my kids.
Looses points for the lack of Looney.
I don’t think I’ve ever struggled so much in rating a film, both on personal and objective evaluations and the balance between the two.
Performances are fantastic, but not particularly interesting characters. I guess they get bonus points for the real-life Belfort cameo.
The fact this film exists is insane; I will remember the final finishing scene finish and my friend ask to the group “what are we doing, actually”
The website kept pausing to load on quite humorous frames.
Escape Room: Olympus (26:51)
Of course he made one of the most entertaining super hero films of all time. Every twist felt relevant to the characters annd messaging and not just the plot. It’s almost like Dune; you never know who is in control.
Great expansions of cast, score, and scale. This film rounded out my understanding of the book, the ever-shifting, simmering layers of power and plans. I’ve been describing it as a thought experiment of “what happens when you take an all-powerful person who controls everything, and add four more.”
Also, if he’s making Part III that sister has to be born at some point. Bring on the weird.
Also also, I grin at how the Harkonnen accent has just become Skarsgaard’s accent.
ONE WEEK LATER:
I think it’s better than the first. I think.
Regardless, I enjoyed it more.
