  What a drag. 
  Every character, especially the main character, was so bland! The supposed heartwarming moments were incredibly contrived and cliche. It’s practically like every other war movie except with a huge budget and a great score. The score was good I must say. Movie is WAY too long; most shots were pointless, predictable and relatively unmoving. Gets across none of Remarque’s point.

  watching 13yos on the streets chewing gum on the streets, hustling, scamming, chewing gum, dumpster diving, pimping, selling sex, blood to be able to get through day to day is j gasping yet numbing idk how to describe. theres no counteracting normal reaction to any of it, its just an part of life as is for them. and bc this is foused on childhood, the future…
