  This direct-to-video special was released on this day, 20 years ago—on August 8, 2000. The movie was technically the first three episodes of the series, as the regular series wouldn’t officially premiere until October 2, 2000.

  It’s not a bad introduction to the series.¹ The plot is pretty predictable, but the characters are likable enough. Some of the jokes are actually funny. And its campy feel helps its charm. Pleasant enough for what it is.²

  I hate this movie. I don’t just dislike it, I hate it. I was originally giving this a full star, but after rewatching it, I have come to the conclusion it’s absolutely unbearable, and a full star is just too much. I gave this movie two chances, and it flipped me off twice.
