On a rewatch which I’ve seen it multiple times but I can’t get over how great the family dynamic works, how each characters flaws are dealt with talking about big subjects, death, drug use, body dysmorphia, daddy issues, suicide. Yet it’s so simple and you just have a great story. I bumped it up half star cause it’s seamless and you don’t get to see movies made like this as much. Endearing and funny yet sad at the same time. Maybe I just blame the end of true comedies. An easier time.

Mikey Madison is a powerhouse in this film. To be in almost every scene and carry so much of the emotion of the film. Shows that she will be a star for the long haul. For Sean Baker to mold this project in so many ways is quite amazing and very happy to see it succeed in which it did. The dialogue is amazing in which the cast works together so well. Love this almost POV run and shoot feel…
