This is only my second time watching it. I saw it in theaters when it originally came out, but didn’t have letterboxd at the time. This time around I was able to appreciate it more without crazy tears in my eyes. The film is so good and I love it very much. I learned about Polynesian culture in high school & since then I had a great respect for the history and Polynesian people ❤️. The cinematography is gorgeous & the casting…

I enjoyed this film. It fit the perfect mold for a DCOM. My only issue was the exaggerated bold choice of wardrobe. But other than that I enjoyed the storyline & felt every emotion the characters went through. The choreography was phenomenal. I definitely recommend if you don’t mind cute little “”cheesy”” movies.

My first review: (please don’t butcher me)

I liked the film a lot but it didn’t go exactly how I expected. I waited too long to see it & thought of ways how it could’ve gone in my head. Don’t get me wrong it was beautiful, seeing their bond build and develop. I just wish I didn’t do that to myself. Also I kind of envy their relationship because I know I’ll never experience it. It’s just so pure real and raw, whoever does experience a first love or a real love like that I applaud you, that’s a once in a lifetime experience to have.
