I think it was such an incredible narrative choice to have Red narrate the film rather than Andy because it showed an outside view on Andy. It also allowed the audience to understand Andy as much as the other prisoners, making them feel more connected to the prison and feel more like an inmate too.
The use of the character Brooks was so interesting because he seems so irrelevant but thats when you realise how overlooked and isolated he would…
